Conductor of The Mozart Orchestra - Tadeusz Kaznowski
Born in 1988 to a musical family, Tadeusz Kaznowski grew up in Norwich, Norfolk. From a young age, Tadeusz played the French horn in the Norfolk County Youth Orchestra. As both conductor and horn-player, he went on to perform with local orchestras in a variety of chamber and large orchestral settings. Subsequently, he studied at Canterbury Christ Church University where his composition teachers were Prof. Paul Edlin, Prof. Roderick Williams and Dr. Matthew Wright.
Tadeusz gained both Bachelors (1st class) and Masters degrees in Conducting and Composition, exploring the communicative possibilities between leader/conductor and ensemble, as well as exploring aleatoric music. During this time, he had opportunities for tuition with Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and Prof. Paul Patterson.
As conductor, Tadeusz has had the privilege of studying under the tutelage of Howard Williams, Peter Stark, Elgar Howarth and George Hurst. Tadeusz’s experience as a conductor comprises leading a number of Orchestras and ensembles around the UK. He has given premieres of new works by up-and-coming composers such as Sam Messer and has worked with Kari Rydman. More recently, he has enjoyed working with the Norwich Philharmonic Orchestra, Norwich Mozart Orchestra, Norwich Baroque, Norfolk Symphony Orchestra, Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, Southend Orchestra, Ensemble East and performing as the principal conductor with the recently formed Norwich Sinfonietta.
Tadeusz continues to develop as a composer, building on works inspired by his local Norfolk countryside. Currently studying with Michael Finnissy, Tadeusz has found a renewed drive to complete fresh works and revisit the old. In 2020, Tadeusz graduated with a PGCE and currently teaches at a secondary school alongside his composing, conducting and playing commitments. His passion lies in the development of new music and musical opportunities within education throughout the Norfolk area.
