Hannah Watson Emmrich
Hannah is a pianist, teacher and choir director. She read Modern Languages at Cambridge before studying for a Masters and Artist Diploma in piano performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, taught by Martin Roscoe and Caroline Palmer. Her studies were generously funded by a Help Musicians Postgraduate Performance Award, the Kenneth Loveland Gift, the Leverhulme Trust, the Fergal O’Mahoney Memorial Foundation, the Worshipful Company of Tallow Chandlers and the Countess of Munster Musical Trust.
She worked for several years in London and Norwich as a freelance performer, with highlights including solo, chamber and song recitals at St Martin-in-the-Fields, the Barbican, LSO St Luke’s, Cardiff’s St David’s Hall, St John’s Smith Square and the Royal Festival Hall, as well as performances on Radio 3’s In Tune and Afternoon on 3; and a small scene in The Lady in the Van.
From 2017-2021 she worked as Music Director at All Saints’ Anglican Cathedral, Nairobi, while continuing to perform with both local and visiting international instrumentalists and singers, and as a concerto soloist with various local orchestras.
