Leo De Flammineis

Leo De Flammineis is a second year undergraduate cellist studying with Christoph Richter at the Royal Academy of Music.
He started playing the cello aged five and his musical studies were further developed when, aged eight, he joined the London Oratory Schola Cantorum, a liturgical choir with which he continues to sing as a lay clerk.
Prior to joining the Royal Academy of Music he studied for three years with Michal Kaznowski at the Royal College of Music Junior Department. During this time, he was part of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain 2022-23.
In 2022, Leo was invited to premiere Schaum und Licht, a piece for solo cello by Andreas Bäuml as part of the EstOvest festival in Turin.
He has participated in masterclasses with cellists such as Alexander Baillie, Colin Carr, Rebecca Gilliver, Anssi Karttunen, Renaud Déjardin and Arto Noras.
In June 2022, Leo gave a performance of Saint Saens' Cello Concerto with The Mozart Orchestra.
