The Mozart Orchestra was founded in 1961 and their first concert was given at the Assembly House in Norwich on April 7th, 1962. Our season runs from May till October, with two concerts being given in the city and others further afield in Norfolk or Suffolk. In 2000, a visit was made to our twin city, Rouen (France), where a concert was given in the St Joan of Arc Festival.
The Orchestra's repertoire covers the period from the 18th to the 21st centuries, using works suitable for what is basically a chamber orchestra, although sometimes larger forces are used.
Interested members of the public are encouraged to become PATRONS; a newsletter is produced twice a year for them, and they have a small concession on tickets and free programmes at concerts in Norwich.
